Fall Harvest Cooking Class for November – SOLD OUT

Welcome back to my studio kitchen for another cooking class of the Fall Harvest series, to take place on Friday, November 8th! With the changing of seasons we are reminded of the warm and comforting “hygge” that a delicious meal with friends can provide; that can even make the coming cold a little bit easier to accept!

This class will celebrate root vegetables and fall squashes, along with local microgreens, preserves and cheeses.  Some of the root vegetables that will be featured, including carrots, potatoes, turnips, onions and rutabaga are still tucked away in my garden as the days shorten and the temperatures drop, as this is the still the best place for them to be stored well.

Our evening will begin with a fall take on an Indian classic, and then on to one of my favourite salads that use root vegetables in their raw glory, and then move on to a comforting and delicious blended soup that features dilled Gouda from Thunder Oaks. For our main we will celebrate the apple in a great roasted chicken recipe, along with a unique vegetable that is found in many gardens in Northern Ontario, the Jerusalem artichoke, or sunchoke! And finally, we will settle in to a delicious pumpkin gingerbread cheesecake roll, a perfect alternative to the usual festive desserts.

Menu:

    • Pumpkin samosas with apple chutney
    • Shaved root vegetable salad over microgreens, with bacon and parmesan
    • Leek and potato soup with Thunder Oaks dilled Gouda
    • Apple cider roasted chicken, butternut squash risotto, seared sunchokes
    • Pumpkin gingerbread cheesecake roll, maple cream

 

Class is ~3.5 hrs in length and includes full recipes so that you can recreate this at home.  Bring a favourite person, your favourite beverage and your appetite for this delicious celebration of autumn. Space is limited so sign up soon!

Registration

Cost is $72 per person, plus HST and 15% gratuity, to total $92.00. You will receive an email to confirm your seat, and an additional reminder email the week of the class with specific details.  If you do not receive any emails, please check in to ensure that you are registered!

Register through e-transfer to info@afinefitcatering.ca and be sure to make a note of the particular class this is for in the memo! 

Refund Policy

Your seat is confirmed once payment has been received. If you are unable to attend the class, please let me know at least one week in advance. A refund of 100% will be provided if notice is given at least one week in advance or if you are able to find someone else to take your spot. Less than 1 week notice will result in a 50% refund. Please contact me with extenuating circumstances.

Alcohol

While wine is not served or provided by A Fine Fit Catering, guests are welcome to bring their own. A safe ride home plan needs to be in place before any more than one alcoholic drink can be consumed. Please inform me of the plan for ensuring safe transportation following the class. If a designated driver is required, we can arrange for Granite Town Cars or other transportation to ensure safety. An additional charge would incur for this service.
