May is the month for honouring our mothers, so every year I am pleased to bring back a cooking class that is especially for mom! My mom means the world to me; she made me who I am and is one of my best friends and as a special bonus, she is someone who I get to work with regularly in my catering and cooking classes. I am excited to work with her as we put May’s cooking class together. For this class, we will be serving up some unique courses that will not only be delicious but also a lot of fun for you and your mother! This is an opportunity for her to relax and take the night off, enjoy an evening full of delicious food from around the world, and glean some interesting tips and tricks along the way.
We will begin with one of my most sought after appetizers; Greek spanakopita bites with a refreshing yogurt tzatziki sauce. Then we will continue with a delicate mushroom soup with Veg-e-tate microgreens. Our third course will take us to Lebanon for a wonderful fatoush salad and crisp pita bread. Our main course of stuffed chicken features the earliest vegetable of the season, asparagus! We will also be featuring Walkabout Farm’s sheep feta and fresh herbs from DeBruin’s Greenhouses. We’ll finish our evening in Australia with my favourite dessert of pavlova with lemon curd and fresh berries.
