EventJanuary’s Eat Clean Cooking Class – now Virtual!
Well hello there, 2022! The new year has brought us more surprises, and although I am so sad to not be able to offer in-person cooking classes with my guests this January, I am hopeful we will be able to tackle these situations with positivity and creativity. With that said, and in light of the new restrictions in Ontario, I’ve decided to shift this Eat Clean cooking class to our virtual format. See the class description below…
Welcoming you to a New Year means new opportunities to get healthy and expand your palette. My “Eat Clean” class focuses on using whole foods and cooking from scratch, a personal passion of mine. The menu is naturally gluten and dairy-free, and features some great ingredients that can be sourced locally, such as the walleye (Eat the Fish) and squashes (Thunder Bay Country Market). We will play with a variety of ways to make great hummus, use cauliflower as a delicious soup, crust our walleye with delectable pistachio and bake delicious gluten-free donuts. As you see, this is a large and ambitious menu, so while I’ll be demonstrating every course, feel free to choose which courses you would like to cook along with me for the afternoon and which ones to learn and cook later!
The class is about 3 hours in length and begins promptly at 3:30 pm. However, we will open up the room at 3:00 so that guests can prepare, ask questions and connect with other guests. At 6:30 or so we will adjourn and enjoy our delicious creations!
- • Hummus trio
- • Southwest quinoa and roasted pepper salad
- • Roasted cauliflower soup with a parsley pesto swirl
- • Pistachio-crusted walleye, fennel slaw, and maple roasted winter squash
- • Warm chocolate donut with dark chocolate ganache and coconut cream
