The Cook

Rhonda Bill hails from Northern BC, and fell in love with cooking at a young age. Growing up in a family where special dietary needs were a norm (her mother is Celiac and her father a vegan), she took on the role of “chef” for the family, accommodating both dietary needs for each meal. After attending cooking school she continued to grow in her craft by working as lead cook in resorts, restaurants and treeplanting camps, never losing that respect for those with different dietary needs.

After spending several years with her husband teaching in the Caribbean (you will see some Caribbean inspired dishes in both her menus and cooking classes!) they moved to Thunder Bay to settle and raise a family.  Rhonda has grown to love this beautiful city with its rugged Northern culture, local farmers and artisans and resilient people.

Soon after settling in Thunder Bay, with teaching jobs scarce, she took the leap, and with the immense help of PARO, Centre for Women’s Enterprise, she launched A Fine Fit Catering & Consulting in 2010.  A year later, with a generous grant by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, she was able to renovate her kitchen space to accommodate guests for regular cooking classes and expand her business to include larger functions such as weddings and formal affairs.

Rhonda is proud to be the face of A Fine Fit, and is the person behind all communication and delivery, so you won’t get away with ordering from A Fine Fit without meeting her!
